Our Philippines Mission Team arrived safe and sound back home. We saw God move in powerful ways during our time worshipping with local churches and visiting families in need. We are so grateful for our partnership with Compassion International and being given us the opportunity to minister to the country of PI. What we didn't expect, was how much they would ministered to us. When we give, the blessing goes both ways!
Friday, March 4
We celebrated the official release of our new album "Live at 401" by Alvarado Music Collective! It was a monumental night of worship and partying! God was glorified and people were touched. This is truly the start of a very special worship culture...
Friday, February 19
Friday night we had the opportunity to share "Breakfast for dinner" together, listen to powerful testimonies of how God is working in the lives of women in our Church body, and spend time lifting each other up in prayer. The Holy Spirit was present and moving that night! It was a great time getting to know each other better and encouraging each other as we grow in our relationships together and with our Heavenly Father.
Thursday, February 4
On February 4th we had our 2015 Year In Review meeting. This was an amazing time for our church family to pause, reflect and praise God for all that He has done for us and through us in 2015. Leland, our Executive Pastor, reported on the incredible growth that Monterey Church experienced last year. Glory to God! In true Monterey Church fashion…the number of cups of coffee that were served also grew in 2015!

We are currently meeting at a home in Severn, MD (near Ft. Meade).
Our gathering is simple and focused on Jesus.
You can expect biblical, Gospel-Centered teaching and worship
followed by an opportunity to serve and fellowship.

God may not give us a map of our lives, but like a compass; He gives us a general direction through the Bible. When my wife and I were in California, we met several military friends that became like our own family. It was there that we first heard the term “PCSing” or Permanent Change of Station, for those of us not familiar with military lingo. Since then, we have “PCSed” to Virginia. On Saturday, we had the honor and privilege of praying for the Newsom’s as they prepare to PCS to Japan. In a small house church like ours it is bitter-sweet to say, “goodbye for now” to members of our church family.
If you want to be part of a church plant, then we are your church family. Be prepared to serve, minister to the lost, and go where there is need. This church feels compelled to plant, serve, and love the people of Baltimore. Our goal is to meet consistently, find a core team, form a launch team, and finally, find a place to launch worship service. Our goal is to reach the lost and keep Jesus central in all of our gatherings. Christ is our root, come and get grafted in with us.

This week’s confluence of events were amazing and evidence of God’s hand moving in and through all three campuses of Monterey Church. As the due date to raise $66,000 for the Compassion CIV in Burkina Faso approached, I witnessed a man sell a treasured vehicle (very high in sentimental value), I heard a message about the early church in Acts coming together with one heart and spirit to meet the needs of the body, then witnessed our Maryland campus step up in unity to finish funding the Burkina Faso CIV! As one church meeting in three places the body joined together to leave a legacy to those we may never meet. We give God all of the glory! We know that He is the one who made this possible, but I am so blessed to be have been a witness to it all.

Freedom Group is sort of like a spiritual workout… I don’t always like putting the work in, but I love the way I look and feel when I’m done… I look more like Jesus! It feels amazing to shed the extra weight of un-forgiveness and shame! I’ve loved going through this group together with my new church family in Maryland and how it has united us as a body, in preparation for the public launch in October. Glory to God!
